12 Obvious Reasons 2015’s Most Hyped Video Games Will Fail

10. Mad Max - The Repetition Of Everything

Avalanche Studios' Mad Max has enjoyed a pretty wild ride in the past few months. Spending most of its time under the radar since its initial reveal a couple of years ago, this licensed game has quickly risen to become many gamers' most anticipated release of the year. However, there seems to be one common complaint that many journalists and online outlets have commented on over the past few weeks: it looks like Mad Max's Wasteland backdrop is going to be barren in more ways than one. Unfortunately, the upcoming title is said to only house a handful of regular, unoriginal open world missions. From relieving captured enemy strong-points to hunting down x amount of off-road vehicles to upgrade your gear, by the sounds of it, it doesn't look like there's much variety to be had at all outside of the game's main campaign. Which is a shame, because what's the point in having such an expansive and detailed open world if there's nothing to do in it? Most sandbox games cover up this repetition with imaginative gimmicks (for instance, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System did a great deal to alleviate the monotony of enemy encounters), yet Mad Max doesn't appear to have anything that would keep up even the illusion of gameplay variety.
