12 Most Satisfying Villain Deaths In Gaming History

11. Zeus - God Of War III

Cause of Death: Following an epic final boss fight, Kratos runs Zeus through with the Blade of Olympus. However, all's not quite over, and when daddy dearest puts up one final stand, Kratos beats the all-powerful God to death with his bare hands. Why It's So Satisfying: For starters, Zeus betrayed Kratos at the start of God of War II, and though we were able to beat the living snot out of him at the end of that game, he escaped, setting the stage for this epic, much-anticipated showdown. The thrill of battling the most powerful of all the Greek Gods has never been equaled in the series, even as the final fight in God of War III was considerably more simple and pared-down than the series' set-piece boss fights such as Cronos and the Colossus of Rhodes. Still, it's the end of the fight in GoW3 that really makes it an all-timer: once Zeus starts his final attack, the game shifts to a first-person perspective, and by pressing the circle button, players can see Zeus get smacked into a bloody pulp with the best seat in the house. Eventually, Zeus sheds so much blood that the screen's completely covered with it, and we shift back to a third-person view. So awesome.
