5. The Imperial March/Jango Fett - The Witcher/Witcher 3

Another insanely subtle, "Wait... is that what I think it is?"-type references.

In the original Witcher game - itself a far cry from the open-world third entry, if you were thinking of revisiting - you'll occasionally come across NPCs randomly whistling the Imperial March. It doesn't happen very often, and you'll have to actively listen out, but if you can't find it, know that Witcher 3 has a far more easy-to-find reference:

When roaming the isles of Skellige, keep an eye out for the village of Blandare - home of Djenge Frett; a 'most renowned' bounty hunter around those parts.

Naturally, this is a reference to Jango Fett, Boba's contract-killing son from the prequel films. Sadly though, no missile-equipped jetpacks.
