12 Worst Superhero Video Games Of All Time

Love yourself a bit of difficulty in your games? Excellent - this is the perfect one for you: Silver Surfer on the NES.

Widely regarded as one of the hardest games ever created, Silver Surfer, is, unfortunately, also one of the worst examples of a superhero game out there. It takes an existing property, loosely makes a game around it, and throws up difficulty spike after difficulty spike all the way through.

Silver Surfer is both a side-scrolling and top-down shooter. You'll guide your character (who has a massive surfboard, making it really hard to dodge stuff) through unfairly-constructed levels where ONE hit means you die instantly and have to restart the stage all over again. There's no health, no armour and no power-ups. You touch something, you're dead.

Technically you can complete Silver Surfer in around an hour, but doing so probably means you are the ultimate deity of gaming and should be worshipped as such. For us mere mortals, it's probably better that you don't try Silver Surfer at all, as you can almost guarantee you'll be flinging your controller across your room in disgust within minutes.
