13 Massively Hyped Upcoming Video Games That Will Totally Disappoint

4. Beyond Good & Evil 2

Beyond Good And Evil 2
Ubisoft

Release Date: TBA

The Hype: To be honest, the fact that the game was confirmed to be happening at this year's E3 was really all that was needed to get the hype train rolling. Most fans had assumed the long-anticipated action-adventure sequel was basically dead in the water, but the glossy cinematic trailer made it clear this wasn't the case.

Why It'll Disappoint: Everyone wants BGE2 to succeed, but it just has so many damn obstacles standing in its way. Firstly, it's a prequel to the first game, so won't feature original protagonist Jade, and it's also been said that the game will be, you guessed it, open world, with a significant online, shared universe component.

The details are still relatively vague, but with the game reportedly being at "day zero" of development as of E3, it's hard not to suspect the game may have been re-introduced a little too early, especially if it may not release until 2019 or 2020.

Again, nobody's rooting against it, but damn if it's still got a major mountain to climb to actually get released and then also live up to the brilliance of the original.
