13 Massively Hyped Upcoming Video Games That Will Totally Disappoint
6. Crackdown 3
Release Date: November 7
The Hype: A launch title for Microsoft's Xbox One X, Crackdown 3 is the long-awaited sequel to 2010's last entry into the franchise, and most of the game's hype revolves around the inclusion of a cloud-based destruction engine during online play, which will allow virtually the entire multiplayer environment to be destroyed, far in excess of what a single Xbox One console could render on its own.
Why It'll Disappoint: Up until E3, word was curiously quiet on the game for some time, and the gameplay shown off at the expo didn't exactly quell fears that that Crackdown 3 is essentially being sent out to die.
Firstly, the graphics look immensely underwhelming, downgraded even from earlier footage, and it's curious how much Microsoft has downplayed the cloud-based tech recently, suggesting it may not be quite as involved as was originally planned.
Expect a decidedly mediocre, maybe average game that's certainly not worth the years and years of pre-release hubbub.
