13 Worst Video Game Industry Decisions Made In 2016 (So Far)
2. No Man's Sky's Vague Marketing Campaign
Does No Man's Sky look like an interesting and ambitious game? Absolutely, but for some reason, Hello Games have taken the super-slow burn when it comes to actually unveiling clear, coherent information about it.
With the game approaching release, only now have they put out videos explaining the various pillars of gameplay, when really this information should've been out in the wild in abundance for a long, long time.
Are Hello Games worried that there isn't enough to do and want to shield unsuspecting gamers from this, or is it merely part of a daring marketing campaign to build intrigue but keep things hidden until release day?
We'll see whether it pays off, but considering how many gamers have simply asked, "So, what is it?" over the last few months in particular, it's probably smart not to keep customers playing a guessing game forever more.
