8. Xbox One X Announced For $499
The Xbox One X was revealed during Microsoft's E3 conference, and though it's being touted as "the world's most powerful games console", that didn't stop many fans being taken aback by the $499 price tag.
While the cost is quite reasonable for the beefy hardware inside the box, it doesn't seem that way when compared to its competitors or what gamers are typically used to paying for consoles, especially stop-gap ones such as this, where any game released on it can also be played on the original Xbox One.
Plus, there's the fact that many games, such as Destiny 2, will only be playable at 30 FPS with 4K still being "evaluated" ahead of release, which likely means it won't look a million miles better than the PS4 Pro version, a platform that's decidedly cheaper than the Xbox One X.
It remains to be seen whether or not Microsoft will be able to make the X anything more than a niche console for enthusiasts, but even then, the price point is clearly putting a lot of potential customers off, who may just hold out for the next "proper" Xbox console in another 2-3 years instead.
