14 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018 (So Far)

10. The Inpatient

The first half of 2018 wasn't particularly kind to PSVR, especially when it came to hyped-up AAA projects. By far the most crushing recent disappointment for the platform was The Inpatient, a VR horror title from Until Dawn developers Supermassive Games.

Though atmospheric to a point, the game is more a tedious slog than anything, to the extent that its brief two-hour play-time felt more like a mercy than a shame.

The main problem is that the game's just not very scary: there are barely any fail states throughout the entire experience - yes, it feels more like another VR "experience" than an actual title - and ultimately takes on the form of a fairly linear walking simulator above all else.

The story's not up to much, and though the sound and visuals do generate some palpable atmosphere, mechanically the game's not at all interesting.
