14 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2018 (So Far)
11. Monster Hunter World
Now, this will be an undeniably controversial pick, and that's totally fine, but as someone new to the Monster Hunter franchise, the near-universally acclaimed Monster Hunter World fell more than a little flat.
The world is beautiful, absolutely, but the game is harangued by a number of nagging issues which make it as least as frustrating as it can be fun.
For starters, matchmaking is an absolute mess, with joining friends or randoms alike proving to be a surprising amount of busy-work. The plot is meanwhile thoroughly uninteresting, basic aspects of the gameplay aren't explained to the player, the UI is a clumsy mess, and even the actual monster hunting itself becomes a repetitive chore after a while.
