14 Most Overrated Video Games Of 2015

8. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture

MetaCritic Score: 78 What It Deserved: 65 Walking simulators are always going to prove divisive, especially with players compared to critics, but even as someone who typically enjoys meditative experiences of this sort (including developer The Chinese Room's own Dear Esther), Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a painfully dull effort. Now, the game certainly looks nice and the voice acting is superb...but that's pretty much all there is. It forces you to walk at a snail's pace (and even holding the "sprint" button is only a marginal improvement), a lot of the dialogue is tedious and repetitive, navigating using golden orbs is more awkward than intuitive, and just when it seems to be getting a little bit interesting...it abruptly ends. Some might find the artful beauty in it, and good for them, but in an age where there's a desperate desire to push video games as artistic experiences, this feels like one that's trying too hard and not enough all at the same time.
