8. Clementine Dies - The Walking Dead: The Final Season (Episode 4 - "Take Us Back")

The world is mere days away from Telltale's The Walking Dead series finally concluding, and after Telltale infamously imploded last year, it's simply a miracle that fans are even getting closure to the series at all (courtesy of Skybound Games).

But with this being The Final Season and Telltale promising a concrete conclusion to protagonist Clementine's character arc, there's naturally a lot of anxiety among fans that she may end up dying in the upcoming series finale.

While death shouldn't ever be a surprise amid an undead apocalypse, Clem has endeared herself to fans so thoroughly over the course of the game's seasons that it's tough to imagine a scenario where this is dramatically satisfying and not just death for its own sake.

It's of course possible that the game concludes with multiple endings, allowing players to pick alternate fates for Clem and in effect never giving her a definitive, canon conclusion to her story.

Whatever happens, sticking the landing is going to be tricky, but one sure-fire way not to piss the fans off is to keep Clem alive. There are times when a protagonist's death is appropriate, but nobody wants to see it happen this time.
