11. God Of War

One thing that's standing in the way of God of War's success? An annoying little kid Kratos has to shepherd across the entire game.

Nobody likes escort missions, and although the little scamp will clearly factor into Kratos realising he doesn't have to rage out and rip the arms off everything, in the game's trailers he's been a notable and unnecessary aggravation.

Still, God of War is uprooting the franchise's classic "square, square, triangle" combos in favour of an over-shoulder, God Hand-style combat system. Kratos has also ditched his chain blades in favour of a whopping great axe that he can bury in far away enemies, only to summon it back, Thor-style.

There's a lot to like... providing it doesn't get scuppered by an overly chirpy child along the way.
