Since its admittedly rocky launch
back in March 2018, the team over at Rare have continued to expand and develop
their open world pirate adventure, ensuring the world of Sea Of Thieves keeps getting better. Now, two years later, over fifteen million players (as of July 2020) have
set sail in this colourful sandbox to forge their own memorable adventures. And with the game releasing on Steam earlier this year, there’s
been more new players than before voyaging for the first time.
From various voyage varieties, Tall
Tales, skeleton forts, and ghost fleets to try your hook hand at, there’s more than
enough for newcomers to sink their teeth into. And with Rare’s horizontal progression
system, they have no major disadvantage against veteran players.
However, this means that players are
thrown straight into the deep end, leaving them to learn the ropes as
they go. Aside from an optional tutorial voyage and a selection of tool
tips that highlight the bare bones mechanics, players need to figure out a lot by
themselves. And not all of which is immediately obvious, even to seasoned pirates.
Take note of some advanced tips and tricks to give you a peg leg up on your next voyage.
