15 Batman Arkham Series Elements That Would Make Future Films Great
5. Riddler's Revenge
Batman's villains each bring something unique to the table and require different tactics to conquer. The likes of Bane and Killer Croc can more than match him in the physical stakes, the likes of the Scarecrow and the Mad Hatter attempt to use fear against him and the Joker operates on pure chaos. The Riddler, meanwhile, prides himself on being Batman's intellectual equal, forcing him to undertake mind-boggling endeavours in order to bring him to justice.
In each of the Arkham games, the Riddler has been used as an excuse to put collectibles in the game. Many curse the 'Riddler trophies', mostly because of the sheer number of them that have to be collected (thankfully scaled down somewhat in Arkham Knight after 440 were featured in Arkham City), but many are a considerable challenge to figure out for those who don't instantly resort to the Internet the moment they become stuck.
Catching Riddler actually feels like an accomplishment when each has been collected, as his quest truly tests players and isn't over in five minutes and a few button mashes like so many others.
They could easily serve as the inspiration to a film plot, as Riddler could challenge Batman to an increasingly complex series of tasks in a manner not too dissimilar to Jeremy Irons in Die Hard With A Vengeance, where Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson had to work together to piece together clues and solve riddles to prevent tragedy.
