When a new game into a well-established - but descending at the time - franchise comes out, it's a pleasant sight to see that not only is it a great entry into said franchise, but it's able to stand toe-to-toe with the originals, breaking the hypnotic spell of nostalgia and potentially being THE best game of the franchise.

With the end of season one of HITMAN and its physical disc release nearby, it presents a great opportunity to reminisce and identify the best levels from all the Hitman games.

A total of 88 missions from the main titles exist, making a 15 list the best way to shine some well-deserved light on many of these great levels, not just in Hitman history, but possibly of all time. Contrarily, they'd certainly earn an award for most varied missions in a game; aesthetically, mechanically and thematically.

If you feel something is missing or requires a higher placement, don't resist typing in the comments.

15. Shogun Showdown - Hitman 2: Silent Assassin

Location: Katsuyama Castle, Hokkaido, Japan

Objective:

- Eliminate Masahiro Hayamoto

- Secure Missile Guidance System

A three-part mission where you've overcome the long trek through snowy forests, through hidden valleys and tunnels, encountering and constantly killed by ninja snipers as well as ninja everything else.

To make it here. Hayamoto's castle. A fun mission made like a proper Hitman level, unlike the two levels that preceded this one. More Ninjas await you along with their laser grids and Hayamoto on the top floor.
