15 Best Video Game Acting Performances Of The Decade

5. Michael Mando - Vaas Montenegro (Far Cry 3)

Joel And Sarah
Ubisoft

Forever the go-to pick when considering the best video game villains, Vaas was the antithesis of ordinary. With a wired stare and constant philosophical ramblings, Michael Mando’s performance ensured that you were sitting on the edge of your seat, unable to look away.

One of the largest criticisms of the franchise high point was the villain’s diminished presenc in the late game, as he didn’t even manage to make it to the closing act. Nonetheless, when the Far Cry franchise is merely uttered, Vaas appears at the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Like an exposed nerve, Vaas made you feel as though you were walking on eggshells as you awaited his next big murderous outrage. It is a performance that every Far Cry villain since has tried to imitate to varying success and remains a hallmark of how a singular performance can entirely dominate your perception of a game – especially since he only spent a fraction of the run-time on screen.
