13. The Majima Switcheroo - Yakuza 0

One of the best things about Yakuza is its ability to blend a hilariously OTT, quirky in spots tone with gritty crime-fuelled stories and characters written to have real heart. One such psychotic goofball is Majima, introduced in the original as a gang leader dying for a fight against protagonist Kazuma Kiryu because he's the toughest man around.

As such, we've seen him and Kiryu have almost a 'Batman and Joker'-style relationship, but when Yakuza 0 promised to show what the character was up to before all this, nobody expected a phenomenal opening sequence where Majima is actually shown to be the nicest guy in Earth.

First being the manager of a high-end club and then dealing with a rowdy customer by politely talking them down and offering more drinks, the game plays with the idea of Majima being a completely different person for just long enough, before showing he's actually forced into this position by another powerful individual.

In fact, he hates having to be so nice to everyone when he could rip them apart instead. Re-enter the Majima we all know and love.

It's certainly a moment befitting the character that'll make fans chuckle more than anyone else, but the expert script and fantastically comedic cutscene introduced Majima in the best way possible.
