14. Seeing N. Sanity Beach In Its Remastered Glory - Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
Such a simple thing, but for all of us who grew up playing Crash in his 90s polygonated glory, just firing up N. Sanity beach and breathing in Vicarious Visions' exemplary new game engine was heartwarming, to say the least.
From doing the unthinkable and remoulding a character whose aesthetic felt like it could only work because of a lack of detail (he's essentially a giant orange triangle with a face), to rebuilding every level with each brick and Aku-Aku mask intact, Crash's N. Sane Trilogy will stand the test of time as a lesson in how to modernise a PS1 classic without losing any of its charm.
