15 Best Wrestling Games Of All Time

The last game that used WWE's 'scratch' logo is also one of the best ever put on disc.

2K14 was 2K's first real stab at things, but they had the know how of Yuke's as a tag-team partner after taking over from the financially ruined THQ. Starting hot, 2K14 hurled plenty of souped up features at fans. The '30 Years Of WrestleMania' mode was a centrepiece, The Undertaker's 'Streak' mode was a nice sideshow to that, and everything came together nicely under a slick gameplay engine that made matches fun to play.

One of the best things about 2K14 was that the game-changing Community Creations hub was easier to use. That made it less of a hassle to implement new characters into your experience - 2K expanded Create-A-Superstar slots to 100, which also helped. Naturally, the servers have long since been shut down, so if you're revisiting 2K14 today then keep that in mind. No WCW CAWs for you!

2K14 was the culmination of Yuke's work through the old SmackDown vs. Raw and WWE '12/'13 series. It wasn't a huge step forwards from the previous game ('13 was ace), but it did refine everything that fans expected and the 'Mania mode was top tier. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for 2K15. That wound up being a messy debut on PS4/Xbox One.

Back to the positives, because there are lots of them. 2K14 is considered by some to be the last truly great WWE game. This writer clearly disagrees with that (2K24 is on this list), but it does feel like a gem from a bygone era.

Speaking of which...
