With Bloodborne, Sony kicked off the gaming year with a brilliant bang, delivering their most epic PS4 exclusive to date. Unfortunately though, as far as the company's line up of games went, it was all downhill from there. Following up that excellent release was The Order 1886, a colossal disappointment already covered here in detail, and then Sony's line-up was pretty barren until the tentpole title Uncharted 4, expected to hit shelves in October. However, hit by a delay, developer Naughty Dog decided to push the game to early 2016 to make sure it met player expectations - a reason you can't really argue with. Unfortunately, with practically no other big exclusive releases until 2016, the delay left Sony with a rather underwhelming second half of the year, essentially completely opening themselves up to Microsoft's attack, led by the mighty Halo 5.
