15 Misleading Video Game Trailers That Totally Lied To You
8. Bioshock Infinite
Saying Bioshock Infinite had a tumultuous development cycle wouldn't be an overstatement; constant design changes, narrative shifts and rewrites meant that the final game was nothing like the haunting gameplay that was originally unveiled to audiences back in 2011. Trailers for the latest Bioshock up until release showed mechanics that would later be dropped, a scale that would be significantly decreased and even large sections of the game that would never see the light of day. While Infinite finally released in 2013 to critical acclaim, players and critics alike had huge problems with the obviously dumbed-down shooting mechanics. While you expect a game's story to change during development, no one had any idea that the combat here would be scaled down and crippled so much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhCwn8QGGUI
