15 Most Brutally Hard Video Game Moments Of The Decade (So Far)

13. The Line - Furi

Furi The line
The Game Bakers

Furi is a damn fine game, and one that any action fan should play. Simple as.

With that out the way though... man does it push you to the brink of sanity by filling the screen with endless amounts of energy orbs, beams and obstacles. See, Furi is a boss rush game, interspersed with synthwave-backed walking segments as you regain your composure - only to be thrust into an a more frenetic fight around the next corner.

Even with that in mind - and the opening boss certainly doesn't hold anything back - The Line is the first time you'll really be confronted with game design that almost reduces you to the same size as another projectile.

The final round in particular is like trying to navigate a snowstorm of death, as the pumping soundtrack and a taunting foe's one-liners keep you invested. You will perish, over and over, to what feels like an overwhelming amount of orbs that just couldn't be dodged.

To this day I can't tell if it was genuine skill or a smidge of luck that got me through, and although what The Game Bakers achieved should certainly be seen by far more people, know that going in, you're likely to get torn in half a good 20 times before emerging victorious.
