15 Most Criminally Underrated Video Game Franchises Of All Time
7. Darksiders
Where to start? Darksiders 2
Maybe, if we all join hands and pray, THQ Nordic will release Darksiders III. We already know it's being talked about, but the remasters of both original instalments only stoked the fires of fandom for the likes of myself, who have been screaming about the series for years.
Why? Because it's like some glorious hybrid of Legacy of Kain tone, Metroidvania environmental progression and oversized World of Warcraft-inspired armour. Darksiders II in particular introduced more RPG elements to better keep track of how much damage you're doing, alongside an impressive loot system that gives you new armour and weapons at a steady clip.
Across both games there's a really strong sense of direction and vision, from the lore that backs your expeditions across the globe to the monster designs and especially the main characters, War and Death.
Oh, and Mark Hamill is your helper-character in the original, doing a voice that pretty much means you're hanging with the Joker for the duration. What's not to love?
