15 Most Disappointing Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)
13. Call Of Duty: Ghosts
With the Modern Warfare series, Infinity Ward gave Call of Duty a new lease of life, turning it into the biggest gaming series in the world. Not bad, right? Of course, all good things must come to an end. With the Modern Warfare trilogy finished, Infinity Ward had to move on with a new Call of Duty series. Ghosts, as a result, might have been the most anticipated title in the entire series then. It did not live up to that anticipation. The campaign and the multiplayer were both criticised for being stale, repetitive and lacking in innovative ideas - not great. The new Expedition Co-Op mode was pretty cool but with only one map included on the disc, it got old fast. There are always going to be struggles when a developer has to build a brand new story from scratch but the characters featured in Ghosts offer nothing memorable. Compared with the cast featured in Modern Warfare (like fan-favourite Captain Price), it felt like a real step down. Ultimately, Ghosts confirmed that the Call of Duty magic was starting to wear thin. Infinity Ward offered nothing new or exciting with this offering - it will be interesting to see what they return with in two years time.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
