15 Most Disappointing Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

12. Mass Effect 3

The unprecedented success of Mass Effect built an unbelievable level of hype for the finale of the series (well, what was supposed to be the big finale). Unfortunately for Bioware though, when that final climatic moment came, it left fans disappointed and desperate for answers. When Shepard arrives at the top of the Citadel for the final showdown, he is greeted with a choice between three options, each offering a different ending to the game. The differences in each ending are incredibly minor - some details are changed between each one and a different colour is used in the explosion which follows... that's it. It's full of random scenes which destroy any attempt the game had made to create a cohesive ending and completely disregards any choices the player has made throughout the series - it all boils down to one single, almost completely irrelevant decision. It sucked. Fans were outraged; to invest so much time in a series and be left with such a disappointing climax was gutting. Bioware has since revisited the ending (adding an Extended Cut which fleshes things out a bit more) but it was too little too late - Mass Effect 3's anti-climatic ending has gone down in infamy.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
