9. Fallout 4

Fallout 4 may have resonated with critics, but on the consumer and fan response side, people were positively seething.

Honestly, I'm with them. Playing Fallout 4, it immediately feels way too similar to its third instalment, with all manner of bugs, glitches, clipped audio and bad animation ruining any immersion you're supposed to feel as a father searching for his missing son.

Gunplay was better, granted, but the Minecraft-esque 'Settlement mode' was awkward at best, and downright broken at worst. We tend to adore Bethesda for their past efforts - and Skyrim continues to be one of the greatest games of all time - but Fallout 4... was way too much like 'Fallout 3.5.'
