15 Most Underrated Nintendo 3DS Video Games Of All Time
1. Yo-Kai Watch
Yo-Kai Watch is, for my money, the most underrated title on the 3DS. One of the main problems is that it’s always compared to Pokemon, and you can’t really beat Pokemon. Anything that has whimsical little critters that you go around collecting and fighting with is going to draw parallels, but that’s about where the similarities stop.
In Yo-Kai Watch, you’re after cute little versions of Japanese ghosts and ghoulies, named Yo-Kai. It’s less about simply being the best, and more about investigating a series of supernatural mysteries, and unlocking the true power of the Yokai Watch device itself.
Pretty much all of the Yo-Kai are really well designed, and you’ll be able to appreciate them even if you’re not entirely clued up on their origin. It’s not even a hugely easy game. I struggled more times than I’d like to admit with certain encounters.
You can also roam around at night, but take heed, as there is an actually somewhat terrifying giant red monster that will chase around, like some sort of kid-friendly version of Outlast.
Do yourself a favour and pick a copy up. There are even a couple of sequels if you’re left wanting more.
