15 Overlooked PS4 & Xbox Games You Need To Stop Ignoring
5. Hand Of Fate 1 & 2
Ever played Magic: The Gathering? Or any deck-building game? The one thing that makes assembling a collection of creatures and spells so fun is the mind's eye visual you have of all your most fearsome warriors coming to life.
Hand of Fate is essentially that sensation, mixed with the Batman: Arkham combat and a choose-your-own-adventure premise.
Both the original and sequel have you going up against a mysterious hooded "dealer" figure, who you'll pit your wits against. You do so by submitting a deck that you unlock cards for across the full game, but the dealer's allowance also accounts for monster encounters, shops to visit and decisions to make.
Coming across enemies beams you into a combat arena where your deck animates and all items and weapons get thrown onto your emerging hero. It's a great effect, and upon completing any full "round" you'll get better gear, letting you custom pick scenarios you want to happen for the greater good; slowly turning the tables on your opponent, one card at a time.
