15 Times Video Games Mocked You For Earning Achievements
1. Call Of Duty: World At War Tells You To Stop Playing
Call of Duty has one hell of a dedicated fanbase. If you were one of those diehard Call of Duty fans back when World At War was released, you may have unlocked one of the cruelest achievements ever.
Years ago, Call of Duty popularized prestiging in multiplayer, which has now been featured in many games in and out of the franchise since. The concept is you reach max level, and then reset your progress to do it all over again. To some it's futile, while to others it's the one force that drives their gaming experience.
In World At War, the max prestige level was 10. Which meant you'd have to level up and reset 10 full times, or reach the equivalent of level 650. You'd end up investing days upon days to earn this rank, all to be able to show off that sweet tenth prestige icon.
Well when you finally reached the max prestige level and unlocked that emblem of bragging rights, you also unlocked a 0G achievement named "Go Get Some Sun."
All that time spent, all those games played and all those times leveling up only for the makers of the game to tell you to stop playing and go outside. Ouch.
