Over the last decade in particular, it's fair to say that a platform-exclusive game has become a far more coveted and valued commodity. As the vast majority of games these days land on at least PS4, Xbox One and PC if not more, when a game clings to one platform forever more, it's something worth taking notice of.

In this case, we're not talking windowed exclusives or games likely to be ported to other platforms in the future, but titles designed solely with the PS4 in mind. From classic Sony mainstays through to highly-anticipated and imaginative new IPs, there's a lot to be excited about in the PS4's pipeline, such that you might want to start saving now.

Sure, it's not all going to be Game of the Year material: some of it will invariably disappoint and maybe a smaller game will even end up as vaporware, but if just a handful of these exclusives hit their stride, then the PS4 will continue to prove why it's dominating the current gaming generation.

Here are 15 upcoming PS4 exclusive games you must consider...

15. Detroit: Become Human

God Of War Crash Bandicoot Gravity Rush 2
Quantic Dream

Release Date: TBA 2017

The Buzz: The latest title from Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls) is an interactive drama revolving around androids in Detroit, namely Kara (Valorie Curry), an android with artificial consciousness who begins to explore the world around her.

Though director David Cage has mostly left fans in the dark so far, the little footage that's been shown off looks gorgeous, and will be an easy sell to anyone who enjoyed any of QD's previous games.

Hopefully Cage won't let his more excessive instincts as a storyteller get in the way this time, and please, for the love of God, don't cast anymore French people to play Americans.

Still, with a perma-death system and expansive, branching plot, Detroit should be one of next year's most staggeringly original creations on PS4.
