15 Upcoming Video Games To Make A Wii U Worth Buying

9. Mario Maker

Frankly, it's surprising that it's taken Nintendo so long to come up with a game which allows players to build their own Mario levels, but regardless, Mario Maker is finally on the way. Originally created as a tool for internal development, it eventually was transformed into a game for consumers, who will reportedly be able to switch between designing classic-style Mario levels and HD ones. Journalists lucky enough to play the game already have praised the use of the Wii U gamepad, making for intuitive, easy navigation of the interface (a frequent problem with console games), in order to decide where to drop enemies, pipes, power-ups and so on. Perhaps most impressive, though, are two features in particular: the ability to instantly play a level you're working on without any loading times, and also to view your path through the level, allowing you to realise where you've made an element of the level too easy or difficult and adjust it accordingly. The only thing holding it back at the moment is that Nintendo has refused to confirm whether the game will allow online sharing of maps, because without a feature this basic, its appeal is substantially limited. Release Date: Q1/Q2 2015
