15 Video Games That Every True Gamer Should Have Completed
10. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Although skateboarding over here has pretty much been eradicated by the introduction of scooters that are clearly naff and shouldn't be ridden anywhere by anyone, ever, back when I was a youngling skateboarding was both the coolest thing ever out in the real world and was also the coolest thing ever on my Playstation. Playing Tony Hawk's 2 was like the way I thought I could skateboard in my head. In my mind, I was popping kickflips over half pipes, pulling off a 900 over a set of stairs at school and jumping over a bum called Olly. In reality, I was skating around trying and failing to nail badass tricks, hurting myself in the process and then carrying on relentlessly. A much more refined game than the original, TH2 delivered the definitive skating experience. It was a unique game on a growing platform, giving me and my friends hour upon hour of satisfaction. One summer holiday, we literally spent most days skating around TH2's levels trying to find all the gaps to unlock a mysterious character called Prima Carrera. We did it eventually, but it took absolutely forever.
