15 Video Games Everyone Expected To See At E3 2018
5. Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 was first announced back at E3 2014, and development on the title since has been rough, to say the least. After initially being planned for a Q2 2015 release, the game was ultimately taken away from developers Yager Development, and in early 2016, Sumo Digital took over work on the first-person zombie actioner.
Somewhat hilariously, publisher Deep Silver even had to confirm last year that the game was still in the works, and with word going quiet in the lead up to this year's E3, there was a sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, it could get a surprise re-introduction for release in 2019.
Instead, it's looking ever-more likely that the game is vaporware or will end up being quietly sent out to die sometime down the line. It'd be great to see 2011's hit original get the sequel it deserves, but give it a few more years and they'll probably be better off just rebooting it instead.
