2. Over 42 Games Have Been Banned In Australia
Oh Australia, why oh why must you endure successive governments who hate video-games? Since 1995 the Australian Classification Board has saw fit to censor and/or ban over 42 virtual entertainment products - much to the dismay of many Aussie gamers. Despite a glimmer of hope appearing as a result of the introduction of an "R18+" rating in 2013, the censorship board still continues to stifle the more mature elements of games, having banned Hotline Miami 2 most recently when it would have fit the bracket necessary to be given the country's highest rating. Worse still, if a game somehow returns after being refused classification it will most likely be in the form of a heavily censored version of the product. Left 4 Dead 2 saw a significantly censored Australian come back, and it just isn't the same as the original.
