16 Things We Learned From Gamescom 2015

5. Halo 5's Campaign Is "Twice As Long" As Halo 4's

As fun as the Halo campaigns tend to be, it's a common complaint that they're too short, as even halfway competent players can easily blast through most of them in 6 or 7 hours (or slightly longer on higher difficulties). The clear focus is on the multiplayer suite, and while that seems unlikely to change with the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries have confirmed that the game's campaign will be roughly twice as long as the previous game's. So, assuming they're telling the truth (considering how often devs exaggerate the length of their games), it'll last 11 or 12 hours even on the softer end of things, which would make it one of the longer FPS campaigns in recent memory. With the game visiting the Human, Covenant and Forerunner worlds, it would make sense for the length and scope to be suitably sprawling, and if the game can maintain quality pacing throughout, then it just might be the best Halo campaign yet. And even if it's not, there's still that sure-to-be-delicious multiplayer mayhem to delve into.
