14. Star Wars: Battlefront's 'Fighter Squadron' Mode Promises Epic Dogfights
EA dropped a trailer for a new mode for the massively-anticipated holiday release Star Wars: Battlefront, a 10v10 spaceship-only outing called Fighter Squadron, which seems to have been served up as an apology to all those who hoped the game would feature in-space dogfights. Instead, the breakneck blasting all happens in and just above the surface of each planet, but it nevertheless looks outrageously entertaining, taking control of either an X-Wing and Tie Fighter as well as specialty vehicles such as the Millennium Falcon and Boba Fetts ship Slave I. It certainly looks like a riveting consolation prize for those hoping for space duels, and as long as the game releases in a working state, it's surely going to be one of the year's most adrenaline-infused online multiplayer experiences.
