18 Best Moments From The Batman: Arkham Video Games

13. The Morgue

As Batman steps out of an elevator into the bowels of Arkham Asylum, he witnesses a group of crazed orderlies clawing their eyes out in an apparent fit of hysteria.

Scarecrow's shadow looms across the walls as he scurries out of the room, prompting Batman to follow. After climbing out of a vent, Batman comes across Commissioner Gordon's corpse. "But that's impossible", you think.

Gordon can't actually be dead, can he? As Batman attempts to contact Barbara, he's greeted by a recording which tells him the number isn't available. If you didn't think something was wrong before, you definitely do now, and as you round the corner, a swarm of insects spill out from the direction of the morgue.

Things get even weirder once you actually enter; drawers open and close of their own accord, and exiting the room simply loops you back. Except there's three bodies in the room this time, and after being confronted by the reanimated corpses of his parents, Bruce is assaulted by Scarecrow as he lunges at him from a body bag.

Rocksteady went all out with a series of fear gas-induced nightmare segments, and the moments that had you hiding from a Freddy Krueger-inspired Scarecrow as he scanned the environment were some of the game's best.

Regardless, it's the slow buildup to Scarecrow's reveal that makes it all so chilling.
