4. Taking D-Dog Out For His First Mission - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WuGFaqvi90 Quiet, D-Walker and D-Horse are all well and good - especially with the latter's 'poop on command' ability - but it's nurturing D-Dog from a pup into an eyepatch-wearing canine warrior that are some of the game's finest moments. You'll first find the little pup out in the Afghan wilderness, before Ocelot mentions he needs to grow up if you're going to take him out on assignment. Then you get the cutscene where he hops in the chopper and just sits there, doing his man's best friend face and essentially grinning that the two of you are going to go kill some bad guys together. The resulting tactics you can pull off with him are endlessly enjoyable, from distracting guards with muzzled barks, to siccing him on others and watching him slice their throats with his own custom knife (yes really). Phantom Pain dropped the ball with
its cut content, but for gameplay and moments like these, they're second to none.
