3. Solving Murders & Mysteries With Nick Valentine - Fallout 4
Scratch all the "it's just Fallout 3.5" talk for a second, as one character in Bethesda's fourth instalment is head and tattered shoulders above the rest; the synthetic cyborg detective, Nick Valentine. You'll first come across him in Diamond City, and whilst his existence as a former Institute synthetic robot is immediately interesting and well thought out, it's the side-missions that give the most long-lasting flavour. There are only three of them, but all are in-depth, allowing for a hefty chunk of time if you want to take a break from hunting down your son to indulge in a little crime fiction. Nick's 1950s-esque demeanour as a chatty noir detective is spot on, and you can even don a trenchcoat and fedora yourself to look the part. Perfect.
