GoldenEye on the N64 was a great FPS and also a game that gave people some faith that movie adaptations could be excellent (faith that sadly isn’t often repaid any more). It made being a spy feel cool, largely thanks to the selection of gadgets and weapons at Bond’s disposal. The gun of choice for the true spy role-player was the silenced PP7.

Firing off a round with this slick, silenced beauty felt amazing. In a game about being covert this gun epitomised all that developer Rare got right. Sneaking around and taking out guards with the pew pew of the silenced pistol made you believe you were a super spy - perhaps a 12-year-old super spy, but a super spy all the same.
