19 Most Laughably Unfair Video Game Bosses Of All Time

16. Gears Of War - General RAAM

Ah RAAM, for some reason, everyone thinks you're a great character in the Gears Of War universe. So much so, that you even have your own side-story and comic book appearances. But your fan following can't have anything to do with your final boss fight at the end of the first game, because, well, it's infuriatingly unfair in almost every way imaginable. Why it's unfair: Kryll. That's all that needs to be said. Seriously though, those little bird-like cretins that constantly swarm around RAAM like flies round poop are one of the worst mechanics of any game, mainly because there's absolutely no indication while fighting the Locust general that what you're attacking him with is actually doing any damage whatsoever. You just have to constantly hammer away at RAAM's living shield until it gives way for you to actually hurt the dude directly. You can only get off a few shots before it comes back too. Only compounding the issue further is the fact if you try and move around the moving arena for a better vantage point, the Kryll will instantly attack you if you so much as step foot into an unlit area of the map. Oh, and when you actually get RAAM low on health, he'll decide to charge at you like a raving lunatic, forcing you to flee into the very same area that the Kryll are waiting for you. You can forget about using that big ass turret too - the Kryll have that covered.
