19 Predictions For This Fall's MetaCritic Gaming Scores

9. Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

MetaCritic Score: 82 What To Expect: The game's recent beta suggests that Black Ops III will likely sit somewhere between the series' worst game, Ghosts (69-78) and the last effort, Advanced Warfare (78-83), because with its wall-running mechanics it provides enough innovation to distinguish it from the woefully generic Ghosts, but still lacks the insane verticality that made AW so popular. Despite many gamers feeling very much fatigued by CoD, critics generally take a more objective stance, so don't expect a game that seems so polished (going by the beta, anyway) to spend up in the 70s. It still remains to be seen whether the campaign can bring the personality to it that Kevin Spacey's presence did for AW, but the game will certainly be praised for its multiplayer Specialists and the general freneticism of the gameplay. It would be great to see a CoD game end up in the 90s again as per the earlier Modern Warfare titles, but with the series' tropes so well-rooted by now, it's a ridiculously unrealistic hope.
