20 Announced Video Games That Are NEVER Coming Out
8. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake
2003's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic introduced a new dimension to the ever-expanding Star Wars juggernaut as its first role-playing game. The game was a smash-hit success, going on to sell millions of copies. How do you follow-up a game as successful as this one? Well sometimes you just make it again. In 2021, Sony announced a remake of the classic for the PS5, to be developed by Aspyr.
Things grinded to a halt in 2022 when a Bloomberg report revealed that the game had been indefinitely delayed due to the bosses at Aspyr being unhappy with the gameplay developed so far. Aspyr themselves would eventually be removed from the project and development passed over to Saber Interactive.
Then late last year it was confirmed Mad Head Games were also now part of the game's development, with the team behind Hellraser: Revival now spearheading the current work under Saber. While the latest update is reassuring, and there have been rumours of a 2028 release, nothing is nailed down and the game's actual release remains as distant as the galaxy far, far away.
