It was at last year's E3 that Star Wars: Battlefront was announced, leaving fans of the original series in an absolute frenzy. Though EA didn't show off any proper gameplay footage this year, they did at least make it clear that they're taking their duties seriously. In a developer's diary video, we saw the DICE crew visiting the Lucas Cultural Arts Museum to take pictures of the props used in the movies, and they even visited the very same locations used in the movies for maximum authenticity. In lieu of actual gameplay, we were shown some early in-engine footage, notably the snow-kissed Hoth, and a daring speeder escape from the Imperials on Endor. The visuals were jaw-dropping, and certainly quite reminiscent of the outstanding visual style of the tragically cancelled Star Wars game, Star Wars 1313. The featurette ends with the invitiation to "see more Spring 2015", though given that the game is reportedly out next Fall (ahead of the release of Star Wars Episode VII), hopefully we won't have to wait that long to see our first snippets of gameplay.
