20 Best Nintendo Games Of The Decade
5. Xenoblade Chronicles
The RPG that took everyone by surprise, Xenoblade Chronicles was pretty much destined for this list purely on the basis of no one seeing it coming when it came out. Well, WE saw it coming, we had to petition like mad just to get it imported to America and Europe, but it rocked Japan to its core when it first came out.
One of the most unique JRPG's made in quite some time, Xenoblade took the size and real time combat of MMORPG's and transferred them to the smaller scale of the Wii. This game doesn't just tell you that it takes place on a continent sized behemoth, it makes you believe it by giving you the size of the thing in real time. Which of course only adds a good amount of stress to the time-based side quest system.
But beyond that, the combat is interesting, actually taking your placement in relation to the enemy into account for how effective your attacks and special moves are, the story and characters are fun and interesting, and the world is one of the most unique in gaming history. There's no better word for this game other than "classic".
