6. Pokemon Black & White

Generation 5 of Pokemon got a lot of flak when it was originally announced. People mostly just seemed to take issue with the presence of a Pokemon that was literally a sentient garbage bag, which ya know, fair enough. But once you got over that little hurdle, as well as some other design issues that ultimately don't impact the larger game, you'd find that Black And White is easily the best Pokemon generation of this decade.

Besides the gameplay being at its peak, the Unova region is easily one of the most fascinating and unique to explore, and the story was just as interesting on top of it. We've all joked about Pokemon battles basically being legalized !*$% fighting, but this story straight up addresses it and confronts the matter head on.

All in all, Black And White was the platonic ideal of a modern Pokemon generation. It had creative designs, interesting characters, a great villain (who was replaced by a boring one right at the end, but whatever), and some of the best Pokemon battles in the franchise's history.
