20 Best PlayStation Games Of The 2000s
1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009)
The first Uncharted was an impressive game with its gorgeous visuals and its rejuvenation of action adventure exploration achieved by earlier classics like Tomb Raider. But the sequel took everything that fans loved about the original and ramped it up to 110%.
From the very beginning, you’re guiding Nathan Drake to escape a crashed train he was traveling in while it’s dangling off the side of a snowy cliff. Once you finally make it to the top, you’re greeted by enemy gunfire from all sides, and the adventure begins.
Fan favorites such as Sully and Elena were back and new characters like his former associate Harry Flynn and his ex-girlfriend Chloe Frazer were introduced. Together they formed a team helping Nate find the fabled Shangri-La, made famous by Marco Polo and his travels in Asia.
To say that the graphics and gameplay had been improved is the understatement of the century. The game played better than a movie. Heck, with huge environments, phenomenal voice acting, great motion capture and the most memorable action sequence ever seen in video games, it set developer Naughty Dog apart from all of its peers on a league of its own.
The game was perfect.
