6. Assault - Overwatch

Very few games manage to come out of nowhere and excel in such a meteoric way as Overwatch. The perfect combination of superpowers, a flawless sense of balance, great art style and immediately satisfying gameplay caters to all major 'types' of player (from casual to hardcore), yet the best mode to mash all these aspects together is Assault.

Unlike the occasionally annoying Escort mode, Assault is your more standard 'attack the point' mode, yet your characters all come with designated class roles (Offence, Defence, Support and Tank), meaning that if you can get a team communicating well, there's a phenomenal sense of achievement in essentially being the in-game version of The Avengers.

Labelling targets for snipers like Widowmaker or Ana to shoot, resurrecting dead comrades as Mercy or letting fly a winning arrow as Hanzo from across the map - yes the most champion-able aspect is the gameplay, but it wouldn't come together quite so well without such an immaculate set of rules.
