Speaking of developers who know their assigned franchises inside and out, Rocksteady's final instalment in their Arkham trilogy completely dominated their past efforts in every single way - even if they had to go back on their own marketing campaign to do it. If you still don't know the identity of the 'mysterious' antagonist plaguing Batman's life this time around, I'll not spoil it, but sufficed to say it wasn't as revolutionary as we were led to believe. Enough of that though, as there's already been quite the few thousand words screamed about Arkham Knight's bad points - and that gets away from the myriad of things that Rocksteady absolute nail. The controversial new Batmobile is spectacular; a gigantic roaring beast that connotes Nolan's Tumbler design, and one that you'll use to wrangle up the entire Rogue's Gallery and some loose ends, too. Taking to the skies and belting across the night sky perfects everything Arkham City's gliding was going for, and the story - whilst feeling a little rushed in spots - still ticks enough boxes to please even the most diehard Bat-fans.
